The dress, one year later

So this post was brought on by two things:

1. There has been so much rain recently! But rainy days make our neighborhood gorgeous, and literally everything is green!! I really wanted to get out and take some pictures, but I didn't really want to just do landscape photos so that led to...

2. An idea I got off the internet a looong time ago, I don't even remember where I saw it, but it was some girl who, a year after she was married, she and her husband put on their wedding clothes again and did sort of a "second bridal photoshoot" :)

But after a year of sitting at a desk job and frequent midnight pizza runs I was super nervous my dress wouldn't fit anymore!! But I am happy to announce...

IT STILL FITS PERFECTLY!! Well, maybe not perfectly, I had to shimmy a bit to get my butt in it!! Probably all those squats (lol not) I've been doing. I guess the quote "I love you with all of my butt. I would say heart, but my butt is bigger," really applies here, my love for you has grown Blake!! :) hahaha!

Also, a side note for the above picture, Blake is in the background, putting on his suit and mumbling "didn't I already go through this? I thought we were done!" haha sorry sweetheart!

This picture was me goofing off before blake was outside, but it turned out to be a cool picture. We also had random lilies (one of my favorite flowers!) in the house, which was awesome but we only used them for one picture haha.

"By the way, I'm wearing the smile you gave me" ;)

"Someone who really loves you sees what a mess you can be, how moody you can get, how hard you are to handle, but still loves you :)" Thanks for loving me through all the hard things this past year sweetheart!

See what I mean about everything being so green?! I had a friend from school drive up to my house, and she said the place reminded her of her home state Maryland cause it was so vibrant!

"When you meet the one who changes the way your heart beats, dance with them to that rhythm for as long as the song lasts."

I love you so much sweetheart! Thanks for taking pictures with me, I know you hate it but look how cute we still are after a year! Thank you all for reading, we love you!

Las Vegas Day Two AKA the most embarrassing day of my life

Hey y'all! So Las Vegas had treated us well up to this point, but little did I know day two would be the most fun/MOST AWKWARD DAY EVER. So, let's begin.

First we started off by going to the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay which was so. fun. We discovered that when we were younger we both wanted to be marine biologists! Even after a year we are still learning about each other haha!

By the way that sign that says "Perfect Predator" is referring to blake, not the crocodile haha.

This was my favorite part! I loved the shark tunnel, it was so cool being surrounded by so many fish, it helps me deal with the fact that I am not a mermaid.

This was Blake's favorite part, he loved touching the stingrays. Not for me! haha

Pretty cool life-sized lava lamp.

And then there's this guy with the saw for a face. Straight out of my nightmares.

After the Shark Reef, we explored the strip and got Lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe, a favorite from my childhood!

Blake's pretty hangry (hungry + angry) in this picture.

After that we walked around some more and explored the Coca Cola factory, M&m factory and the Hershey's Chocolate Factory!

Also you see some pretty weird stuff in Vegas. Just throwing that out there.

World's LARGEST Chocolate Bar! We had the self control to not buy it... this time.

We did buy a brownie from here though, which was the best purchase of the day.

I know this post is turning out to be so long, but I promise the best part is coming up. In the evening, we had planned to go see the Blue Man Group do a show. We had seats that were pretty far from the stage, but when we walked up to the balcony the usher told us to go down and sit in seats that were right up by the stage! We were so excited, we were so close to the stage!!! :) The show was awesome, I don't know if you've ever seen the Blue Man Group, but they are so entertaining!

Ah yes, it was all fun and games. That is, until the blue men went out in search for a "volunteer from the audience." That kind of thing always makes me super nervous, so I tried not to stand out. I turned around to make sure one wasn't behind me and I LOCKED EYES WITH ONE OF THE BLUE MEN. He jumped over like three rows of seats and grabbed my hand and pulled me up on stage! Oh my gosh my heart was beating so fast, I was terrified! Luckily (for you guys, unlucky for me), Blake filmed most of the ordeal, so now you guys get to watch the most embarrassing moments of my life. Also sorry the camera is a little shaky and it turns every now and again, but I promise it is every bit as awkward as promised haha! Enjoy! :)

Have a great week everyone! Thanks so much for reading ;) We love you!!

Las Vegas, Day Numero Uno

Hello! I know it's been forever but it feels good to be back! For our anniversary, Blake surprised me with a road trip to vegas to go see the Blue Man Group, something that has been on our couple bucket list for, well, the past year! Guys, Vegas is SOOO FUN! :) I'm thinking I will have to split this post into two parts because we did so many fun things, but I'm so excited to share it with you guys.

Day One

Here's us before we began our road trip to the gambling capitol of the world.

We look significantly less cool when we don't have our sunglasses on haha

The drive there was gorgeous because Utah was confusing the seasons again so we actually got to see snow in the beautiful red rock mountains around St. George. When we arrived it was a little cloudy in Vegas, which was surprising, usually it's sweltering hot and the sun burns you in like two minutes. Maybe that's just me actually.

We stayed at the Luxor, which is basically the coolest hotel in Vegas, and it's so close to the strip and all the shops! I'm so glad we stayed there, it was so fun!

We felt like dorks walking in cause we took a giant cooler with us filled with snacks and drinks for the trip and people were looking at us like we were alcoholics or something haha! One guy even stopped us and, looking expectantly at our cooler, he said "Beers?" He would have been so disappointed if he knew it really only had a few snacks, drinks and a half gallon of milk for some cereal we brought! Oh Vegas!

After we settled in, we decided we should go to the Las Vegas Temple, and I'm so glad we did, it is an absolutely gorgeous temple! It's crazy because from the temple you can see the Vegas Strip, they are only a half hour drive from each other. I loved that we went our first day, it was a real comfort to look around me and see the many people who came to the temple in a city like this. I think it really set the tone for our trip, and I'm so grateful for all the blessings of the temple.

Such a beautiful temple! Neither of us had ever been before, it is always awesome to visit new temples!

Sorry this is sooo out of focus! We always try to get someone to take our picture together, but people don't know how to use cameras anymore. I think after the selfie was invented people forgot how to focus the camera on something far away and not themselves lol

That's my cutie right after the temple! So handsome!

And there's the temple in the nighttime!

After we went out and ate at one of our favorite restaurants, In-n-Out! It was so delicious and a perfect end to the first day of our trip!

One year down! :)

This post is LATE and I'm so sorry, but I am happy to announce that Blake and I have been married a full year! I love you so much sweetheart, thanks for putting up with all my quirkiness! You are the best husband a girl could ask for, and everyday waking up next to you and your crazy bed head makes me feel like the luckiest girl in the whole world!

Haha those awkward pics where the photographer is like "Okay, everyone look at the person next to you and laugh!" :)

Here are some memories from the day we thought would be fun to share with you! :)

3 Memories of Kim's:

1. I remember being very flustered before getting to the temple (getting ready, hair/makeup fiasco, driving there and getting lost, etc.) but I remember I felt a really calm, peaceful feeling when I saw Blake before the ceremony. We always laugh because so many things were going wrong days before our wedding (we even lost our marriage license and blake's ring at one point!) but seeing him before the ceremony really calmed my nerves and helped me focus on what was important: spending the rest of eternity with my sweetheart :)

2. We had our reception in Blake's parent's back yard, and it was absolutely stunning. I wasn't very involved with the planning, I literally just sent a few pictures of what I liked to my Mother in law, and she really went all out! Seriously it was so gorgeous, a fairytale reception straight out of pinterest. I have always been really grateful his parents let us have it there, and it was the most amazing reception I have ever seen. The food was delicious too (what little we ate during our reception lol)

3. My absolute favorite memory from our wedding day was when we drove away in our cute decorated car (thanks blake's roomates!), and we started driving away to our hotel. I looked in the back seat, and noticing it was empty, I asked "Blake, where's your suitcase?" He had left it at his parent's house!! He was also wearing the tuxedo he had rented that was due back the next day, so we had to drive back to his parents house. It was all so hilarious, and it's probably one of my favorite stories to tell people haha!

3 Memories of Blake's

1. One of my favorite memories of our wedding was when I was sitting with kim before the ceremony, I was so nervous/excited! I remember being so happy I was sitting with my wife-to-be, about to start our life together. Kim also looked so beautiful, I couldn't take my eyes off of her.

2. Walking out of the temple and seeing our friends and families waiting for us! Everyone was so excited for us and happy for us. I liked mingling with everyone, but I remember at one point I was separated from kim by lots of people (we had just been married, so I felt like I needed to be by her side every second!) and I looked up and saw her with her family. They were all smiling and saying how happy they were for her, it made me really happy to see them so supportive.

3. I loved dancing with both my mom and kim's mom at our reception. Both of them looked so beautiful and I could tell they were very happy for us. Everyone was such a big support and help to us, that's what really made our wedding special.

Well, there ya have it! Thanks to everyone who has supported and helped us along the way! We love you guys!!
