Today was my last day of field this semester. For those of you who don't know, field is where Elementary Ed. students go and pretend to be teachers for a few weeks. It's crazy and stressful, but I wouldn't trade any of it for the world. I am so sad it's over because this semester's field was so fun and rewarding, and the kids were all adorable! I wrote down a few things I wanted to remember, and I wanted to share the most hilarious entries with you guys! Enjoy!

The students were cleaning out their desks today. My job was to go around and make sure students were ACTUALLY cleaning, not just making a huge mess haha. So I get to this little boy's desk, and this kid is hilarious, he is always cracking jokes. He pulls out all his notebooks and papers, and I see three pictures fall on the ground. I picked them up and they're all different pictures of Miss Utah. The kid just looks at me and, completely straight faced, says: "She's my girl" I burst out laughing! Apparently Miss Utah visited the school and all the kids got flyers with her pagent pics on them, but this little boy decided to keep a few for his desk! I still laugh about it!

The students are working on mystery stories, and they each have to come up with a title for their story. I was helping a girl color her cover page when I asked her what her title was. She didn't have one yet and she needed help coming up with one. I asked her what her story was about. Apparently, in her story the bad guy wears all black, so she blurts out really loud "THE MYSTERY OF THE BLACK MAN!!" right as the principal walked past our classroom. Some of the things students say :) haha

One student walks up to me and says very loudly "You're shoes are untied!" He then looks down and realizes I'm wearing boots, and then becomes very flustered and runs away :) Kids are so funny on April fools day!

We are reading the story
Castle in the Attic and many of the characters shrink in size so they can fit into a toy castle. Trying to get the kids to think about the story and make connections, I ask them what they would do if they were the size of their pinky finger. One student looks up and says, "I would live in a gingerbread house in the forest. That way when kids comes to my candy house, I can eat them." It took me a full minute to recover from that one :)
Also, one night I was trying to plan a lesson plan, but stumbled across my new favorite memes :) These are some of the best!
That's it! I will try and post more about this weekend, Blake and I are headed up to SLC to see my family! Love you all! Have a great weekend!
