Weekend Wrap-up

Hello everyone! I hope you all had an amazing weekend! Yesterday Blake and I went to the Holi Festival of Colors with our good friends Blaine and Sarah. I don't know what it is about the color festival, but everyone in Utah goes crazy over it, especially college students. Instead of posting these on facebook and clogging up your news feeds with more chalky college students, I'll post them on my blog for you guys :)

Here is our "before" picture! That morning we went to DI and got some clothes we wouldn't feel bad ruining.

And here's us probably ten minutes after we got to the color festival. It's like the more white you have on your clothes, the more people are determined to cover you in chalk, haha. This festival is also not for those who love personal space, as people are constantly touching you with their chalk covered hands EVERYWHERE.

A tip for newbies of the colors festival, KEEP YOUR EYES AND MOUTH CLOSED when walking through the crowds. People are RUTHLESS and they usually have decent aim.

Look at this hunk! :) Pink is your color babe!

Here are our cute friends Sarah and Blaine!

They are so fun! Thanks for coming to the festival with us!

The crowd is crazy! It's really hard to breathe in the midst of the crowd, it's so smoky!

My pink chalk bag :) I painted my nails white the day before, but today they are a cool purple and pink ombre, dyed from all the chalk!

Well, my hair is now dyed purple in the front, but I kind of like it :) Thanks for reading guys! Have a great week!

Food Trucks!!

I love to try new things, especially if it involves food, and the food trucks in Utah Valley are ahh-mazing!! We got Sweeto Burrito for dinner (the best burrito has onion rings INSIDE of it!) and then we went to the Pizza Cone Zone for dessert. They had these incredible dessert cones, they were so creamy and absolutely delicious! Although when I heard the name I couldn't help but think of Parks and Rec, when Ben decides to open a cafe called Calzone-Zone! hahaha! I love that show! :)

The Sweeto truck! I tried to get pictures of their fun packaging and delectable burritos, but we ate them too fast :) I have no regrets though.

I know he hates this picture, but can we talk about this boy for a second? I adore him, he makes me laugh everyday, and he is always up for an adventure! Blake, you are so adorable and you have the best smile in the world :)

It was so cool to see so many different food trucks lined up. There was a Macaroni Truck, Korean Barbeque truck, Taco and Tamale Truck, and way more! They were even selling girl scout cookies at one of the trucks!

Those are the fruity cones! They were soooo good! I highly recommend them!

Sometimes there are bad hair days, but then you eat a dessert pizza cone and stop caring :)

Overall it was a super fun Friday night! I hope you all have a great weekend!!!

Friday NIII-EEET

Hey guys, so I know this blog is now full of ridiculousness but I'm liking the direction it's going, so let's continue.

Update on our lives:

Our house flooded this week, water was coming out of the lights, the smoke alarm and dripping down our windows, and the carpet in our bedroom was soaked completely. Luckily though, nothing was ruined (well, except for the carpet haha) Our laptops were right by one of the leaks, but they were fine! Seriously it was such a blessing!

Into the Woods is the weirdest show I have ever seen. It was great until like, 2/3 through the show, then both Blake and I were like this needs to end now!! haha. The baker was the best character anyway, and spoiler! Everyone either ends up dead or randomly lost in the woods (hence the title!). So many loose ends.

Haha it's so hard to type right now, I'm laughing so hard because I tried to sing "Eye to Eye" from the Goofy movie to Blake and totally sang off key! I looked over at Blake and he gave me intense side eye and was like "That's great sweetheart, please don't do it again" hahaha!

Alright so, I ate a lot of candy tonight, but tomorrow is another day! I've been really good about exercising and eating healthy, and I'm ready to get back on track!

Let's do it people! Swimsuit season is upon us!

Well, thanks for reading guys, y'all are great!! I hope you all have a great weekend!!

Beating school stress with HULA!!!

These past few weeks have definitely stretched me to my limit; with school winding down with exams and field coming up next week, it's hard not to feel overwhelmed! This week has been another difficult week, and I've had to struggle through a few things. While no one likes to go through trying times, I've also learned to be really grateful for them, because I have noticed how much I've grown as a person this year. I've gained a lot of perspective on things that do and don't matter, and it's helped me to look past all of my insecurities and shortcomings; Realizing that life is a constant improvement, and I will have another chance tomorrow to work on improving myself.

In the meantime, I've found a lot of things to help me manage my stress levels :) a few weeks ago, my "dealing with stress" was eating junk food, watching netflix and worrying about how I was never getting anything done! Thank goodness I decided I was ready for a change! I started training for an Iron Man, and I've been taking a few interesting fitness classes. The difference in how I feel is incredible! I've really missed running regularly since my lacrosse days, and it's really helped me to keep a positive attitude. Now with the fitness classes, I have one thing to say:

Because seriously some of those fitness classes (like all the spin classes) are dang hard! And some (like any dance class) just makes me feel so uncoordinated, but then I look around and everyone else looks just as goofy as you do, so in the end it's alright.

Okay, now this clip was taken by one of my fitness instructors and THANK GOODNESS the quality is bad, because it's super embarrassing. This is one of my all time favorite classes, Hot Hula! The first time I went to class I walked in and felt super out of place because it was me and like fifteen beautiful Polynesian women, and man can they shake their hips!! You can for sure tell which butt is mine haha, try not to laugh too hard!!!

It's really true what they say, that life begins at the end of your comfort zone, so I hope you all do something super fun and exciting this weekend! Thank you so much for reading! Have a good week!

Snowboarding!!

Blake and I decided to go snowboarding this past weekend because IT FINALLY SNOWED! And oh man did it snow a lot. It's crazy because we were just camping in these mountains last week, and now there's like 10 inches of snow! :)

The snowflakes were huge! I snapped this picture right when we left the lodge.

Also Blake is incredible at snowboarding! I was like "Aren't you from California?" and he said "Aren't you from Utah?" and then he zoomed past me down the mountain! He is crazy!

It was so fun! Thank you guys for reading! I hope you all have a great week!
